Bringing Our Work Into Focus: Building a Master Project Plan

Behind every successful program are multiple moving parts – projects, goals, solutions, deliverables, timelines, and people – often managed across different tools and teams. To strengthen visibility and better communicate the value of our work, I am developing a Master Project Plan that brings everything together in one place.

This plan connects our projects directly to CDC Public Health Data Strategy Milestones, ensuring day-to-day work is clearly aligned with broader program priorities and outcomes. In addition to organizing projects, goals, and solutions, it captures key information such as deliverables, benefits, risks, dependencies, timelines, and resource needs. This structure supports clearer cost and impact understanding, enables early risk identification, and improves decision-making.

The plan is built using familiar tools such as Excel and Microsoft Planner, ensuring it is easy to maintain, adaptable, and accessible across teams.

Most importantly, the Master Project Plan helps us tell a clear, cohesive story – what we’re doing, why it matters, and how our work advances strategic public health goals.
